Look Incredible Beauty Box – February 2017!

Hi my lovelies,

I’m back after a somewhat extended hiatus (basically, I went on holiday, came home, and got sick) with my monthly review of the Look Incredible beauty box!

20170218_124027

As of last month, I’ve cancelled all of my beauty subscriptions apart from this one – I’m on the lookout for a new one if you guys have any suggestions? Birchbox wasn’t really doing it for me and of all the subscriptions this is the one that I think gives me the best value for money, with fab brands every month! My box is a little battered on the outside this month (likely courtesy of my delivery person), but it’s what’s on the inside that count, right?

First up, If you  don’t know about Look Incredible, it’s a monthly beauty subscription service that for £18.99 (now plus £2.50 postage), promises to deliver you five full sized beauty products every month. They’ve had the likes of Tarte, Bare Minerals, Smashbox, Stila and Nars in previous boxes, and are pretty makeup heavy instead of more skincare items, so If you want to try some new makeup without paying the full price, this one is for you!

Interested? Find out more at lookincredible.co.uk/products/beautybox

So what’s in February’s box?

Where have I been?

Hi my lovelies,

You all might have noticed my absence for the last few weeks; I’ve been on holiday and completely off the grid (technologically speaking). That means no blogging, no emails, no social media whatsoever while I’ve been gone.

If you follow me on Twitter, you may have seen that I’ve been out of the country on a Caribbean cruise for the last two weeks, and I had a fantastic time. I’ll post about that soon, but you can find my itinerary Here  if you want to check out where I’ve been in the meantime.

It’s the first time in years (possibly ever) that I’ve been on holiday with just my mother, and we had a blast discovering the Caribbean islands (and the Caribbean rum) together. I’ll be back with a full post about my cruise and the lovely P&O ship Azura we went on later but I’m just writing this as a heads up that I’m back and we can return to our regular blog posts again! I haven’t written for a few weeks so it may take me a little time to get back in the swing of things, but we’ll get there together!

Let me know if you have and special post requests for February, or just any other comments you might have below!

Oh, also we hit a milestone on my little blog while I was holidaying – 500 followers! I just want to thank every single one of you that takes the time to read my posts, I love you guys!!

I’ll be back with a beauty related post very soon, and I can’t wait to get back into the whole blogging community again.

Ciao for now!

2016 Beauty Favourites!

Hi my lovelies,

Award season is upon us, so I’m giving out my very own awards to my most used and best loved products from 2016! Today’s (rather belated, I’m afraid) post is going to be all about my absolute fave beauty products and other things from 2016! Some of these you’ll have seen me rave about and some I’ve been using quietly for a long time, and only realised how much I loved them once I’ve used it all up! Some of these are long time faves too, and you’ll probably not have seen them on this blog before, but I haven’t managed to find anything that beats them out this year! I love reading this type of post, and I hope you’ll all like this one too! Let’s get stuck in!

  • Bioderma Micellar Cleanser

This is one of those “I meant to review this ages ago and never did” products that I bought to see whether it was worth the hype. It totally is! I struggle to find cleansers that don’t strip my skin or irritate my sensitivity, and this cleanses, removes my makeup and doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight afterwards like a lot of micellar cleansers do. I’m halfway through my second bottle, which speaks for itself.

A Look Back at my First Year of Blogging – 16 Things I Learned in 2016!

Hi my lovelies and happy new year! We made it to 2017!

I’ve had a little bit of a hiatus over the new year period, partly because I posted so much for Blogmas, partly because I needed a bit of time free from work, free from stress just to relax and spend time with my family and friends. But I’m back now, and I’m jumping in to 2017 with a fresh perspective and loads of blog ideas!

final

I was also a very spoiled girl at Christmas – let me know if you’d like to see a “What I Got For Christmas” post – And I hope every single one of you had a fantastic time over the festive period!

Can you believe I’ve had this blog for a whole year? It’s strange to think that over Christmas break last year I picked up my laptop and started to write, and I haven’t looked back since! I’m planning to do a giveaway for all my followers soon after I come back from my holidays (I go two weeks tomorrow for a fortnight’s Caribbean cruise, and I’m SO excited!) just to say thank you for sticking with me so far! Please vote below and let me know what you’d like to see in my giveaway – it is for you guys, after all!

I’ve learned so much over the last 12 months and found some great new friends (I hope) in the process – so let’s see what 2016 had in store for me and what I’ve realised a la Kylie Jenner in the last year! I’ve also interspersed some of my fave blog photos I’ve taken this year!

Merry Christmas My Lovelies!

Hi my lovelies,

I just want to say a very Merry Christmas to everyone (or happy holidays if you don’t celebrate), especially everyone who’s been following my blog for a while.

This year of blogging has been an absolute blast, and I celebrated my one year blogaversary on the 23rd December – it’s been such a ride, I’ve discovered lots of must have, holy grail products this year, and some massive duds too! Most of all, I hope I’ve made a few good friends from blogging too – and I hope to make more and make 2017 an amazing year!

I hope you’re all having a lovely time this Christmas, and wish everyone the best time! I’ll see you all in a couple of days!

Love you all, and thank you (even the new followers) for sticking with me! Let’s make 2017 the best ever!

Jess xoxo

Winter skincare update – Evening Routine! (Blogmas, Day 22)

Hi my lovelies,

If you saw my morning skincare update a few days back, you’ll be expecting this post! I’m sharing the ways that I’m switching up my skincare for winter as the weather gets harsher and colder during winter! One thing I’m a real stickler about is my night time routine, and I make sure that I take my makeup off and clean away all the dirt of the day off before I go to bed every night! Here’s my night time routine for winter!

If you haven’t seen my morning skincare update, you can find that one here!

My night time routine:

No matter how tired I am or how late it is, I always make sure to take my makeup off, so that’s the first step. If I’m wearing eye makeup, I always use Clinique’s Take the day off for Lids, Lashes and Lips to remove that first as it’s the only thing that really gets rid of everything without pulling a load of my eyelashes with it! It’s definitely the best eye makeup remover I’ve tried.

Let’s see what the last three days brought! Strangely, all three of this last three day’s beauty treats were fragrances – I’ll admit I wish there were a little more variety with the products, but they’re from three different brands so I’ll forgive it.

Beauty Top 5 – Current Fave Eyeshadow Palettes! (Blogmas, day 20)

Hi my lovelies,

Welcome back to Blogmas! When I sat down to think up some posts for this month, I realised how long it’s been since I posted a Beauty Top 5! One of my favourite makeup items to buy (apart from lip products because seriously, I have a problem and probably need to seek therapy for my addiction) is eyeshadows and eyeshadow palettes, and I thought today I’d share all of my current faves with you! Tell me what your faves are down in the comments please!

Now there are definitely a lot of warm, neutral shadows in here as they’re my favourites to wear, and neutrals are easiest to do on a daily basis – let’s see which palettes I’ve been using the most lately, shall we?

Winter skincare update – morning routine! (Blogmas, day 19)

Hi my lovelies,

Welcome back to Blogmas! For today’s post, I thought i’d do an updated skincare post, with all the stuff I’m using at the moment! I have combination skin, so it tends to fluctuate pretty regularly between oily and dry, but with the cold, harsh weather in winter my skin dries out pretty badly and I definitely switch my skincare up to make sure I stay hydrated! I know it’s a little cliche to do this kind of post, but It’s been a long time since I’ve shared my skincare faves with you all that I use daily, so I’m about due! This one is my regular morning routine, and in a couple of days I’ll have a night time routine too, so look out for that one!

My morning routine:

20161218_232912

I’ve been using the new Clinique exfoliating cleanser recently – and loving it! This is microbead free, and is really nice and scrubby (sounds weird but you all know what I mean) and I’ve noticed my face is definitely smoother than before after using this – and less texture is always good! It’s exfoliating and foamy at the same time, and I’ve been using a little of this in the morning to cleanse. If i’m in a rush or not in the exfoliaty mood, I’ll cleanse using a little Bioderma on a cotton pad as it gets rid of dirt really easily.
