Lush Mini Product Reviews! (Blogmas, Day 16 )

Hi my lovelies,

For today’s post, I’m reviewing my new purchases from Lush! I’m a huge fan of Lush, and I picked up a good few things the last time I was there, a lot of which I haven’t used before. It’s not really Christmassy, but some of this is from their Christmas collection, so I thought I’d slip this in there for something a bit different! If you saw my Manchester Haul, you’ll know what I bought, but here I’m being a little more in depth!

A Beauty Box With a Twist: Perfect Pamper Box Review!*

Hi my lovelies,

We all know I love my beauty subscription boxes, so when I was given the chance by the lovely people at A Bundle Of to review their brand new beauty box, I jumped at the chance! So here’s my review of the Perfect Pamper Box!

20160913_193124

*This is a PR sample, but you know I’m always completely honest, if something is great, I’ll say so, and if it’s awful, I’ll break the bad news. On with the review!

20160913_193606

Perfect Pamper Box is a little different from your standard beauty boxes on the market (your Birchbox, Glossybox etc) as everything inside is handmade, cruelty free and chosen specifically from small, UK based business. It’s also more of a “spend the night in and relax” type of box filled with bath and body products as well as skincare and cute treats! Every month, A Bundle Of will handpick at least four pamper worthy products for the box, and ship them out for £12 plus £2.95 postage, which is a mid range price point (more expensive than Birchbox, less than Look Incredible or Cohorted).

My box is a little bashed from the postman, but luckily everything inside was a-ok!

You can find more about subscribing at abundleof.co.uk/pages/perfect-pamper-box

So what’s in the box?

Review: Lush Eau Roma Toner Water!

Hi my lovelies,

Today’s post is going to be a quick one: all about the Eau Roma toner water from Lush! I’ve been using a Clinique toner for a while, but it turned out to be a bit too harsh for me, and I’ve been looking for something to switch to. Step in Lush’s Eau Roma water, which is meant to be seriously gentle on my skin.

20160816_113622

This toner has Rose Water and Lavender in there as active ingredients. Rose water helps to calm down the skin and help with any redness, while Lavender will hydrate and balance your complexion, according to the Lush website.

I’ve been using this both morning and night, after my cleanser and before any serums or moisturiser to make sure this really sinks in to my skin and works its magic. Just a few spritzes on my face like a setting spray, and then I pat it in gently with my fingers. Normally I leave it around 30 seconds or so to dry before putting anything else on afterwards. I have combination/oily skin, so I tend to have dry patches (around my forehead and cheeks mostly) and really oily spots (around my nose and chin especially, but it could be anywhere).

Pros:

I’ve found that this is really gentle even on my super sensitive skin, and it does live up to its claim of soothing redness – I’ve noticed my skin is far less red after incorporating this into my routine, and any breakouts I have go away sooner (a mix of this and my Origins Out of trouble mask, I expect). Unlike other cleansers, it’s more soothing and hydrating than astringent, and doesn’t have any alcohol in there (something my skin is really grateful for). This hydrates my dry patches and doesn’t irritate my skin at all either! I’ve found (although this might be from face masks) that there is less texture on my skin lately too, and that can’t be a coincidence. It also smells really good, if you’re into that.

Cons

If you’re really oily, I don’t think this will do much for you or your skin as it isn’t oily but it isn’t mattifying either. It’ll just add to the product on your face, which could make you oilier throughout the day. If you’re looking for a toner that’s going to revitalise or brighten your skin, this isn’t the one for you either, as it’s meant to calm and soothe.

20160816_113643

I’m a big fan of Lush products in general, because I know they’re handmade, cruelty free, and as natural as possible. This Toner was recommended to me by a follower (seriously, thank you times a million and please give me more recommendations), and while I normally don’t look to Lush for skincare, It’s going to be definitely in the mix when I’m looking in the future!

20160816_113700

Needless to say, I’m pretty impressed by this toner water, and since it’s going to be a while (sadly) until my next Lush trip, I’ve stocked up on the big bottle of this as it’s now integrated into my daily and nightly routine!

This toner water is £4.50 for 100g and £8.50 for 250g, and you can pick it up from any Lush store, or from the Lush Website.

I’d love to know what you guys think of this toner, and what your favourite Lush products are, so please let me know! If you have any recommendations about what to pick up on my next trip to Lush, please don’t hesitate to enable me!

As always, please let me know what you think in the comments and anything you want to see from my blog because I really love you guy’s input. Thank you guys for reading, and please don’t forget to give this post a big like and a share if you enjoyed it, and I’ll see you all very soon in the next post! Look Incredible Beauty Box – August 2016 Unboxing and Review!

Hi my lovelies,

It’s time for another unboxing of my Look Incredible beauty box! August’s box is filled with amazing products that I’m really looking forward to using, and I find it amazing that Look Incredible manage to cram so much value into this little box every month.

20160816_112653

They’ve stepped up their aesthetic game this month, and updated the look of their box a little, and it’s a really nice change. Instead of the cheaper looking sticker on the box, they’ve now added some luxe gold font and my box came with an adorable little ribbon and a bow this month, which was a super cute added touch! It’s beginning to look like the great beauty box that it is! It’s also a lot better product wise (in my opinion) than July’s offering!

If you  don’t know about Look Incredible, it’s a monthly beauty subscription service that for £18.99 (now plus £2.50 postage), promises to deliver you five full sized beauty products every month. They’ve had the likes of Tarte, Bare Minerals, Smashbox, Stila and Nars in previous boxes, and are pretty makeup heavy instead of more skincare items, so If you want to try some new makeup without paying the full price, this one is for you!

Interested? Find out more at lookincredible.co.uk/products/beautybox

Want to see what was in previous boxes? Here are July,  June, May and  April‘s,  boxes!

What’s in the box for August?

Review: Sleek Power Plump Lip Pencils!

Hi my lovelies,

So as you’re probably aware of by now, I am ridiculously obsessed with Sleek Makeup’s Solstice Highlighter palette! Lately I’ve been giving this brand a bit more of a try and picked up some of their new Power Plump Lip Pencils from Boots to test out, and that’s what this post is all about!

Product: Tingly lipstick pencils that plump up your lips to make them look fuller for that Kylie Jenner look. These come in six shades and I picked up three from Boots!

Review: Grounded Grapefruit Coffee Body Scrub! (And a Blogging milestone!!)

Hi my lovelies,

So today’s post is going to be all about skincare, and I’m going to share with you a new find of mine: Grounded Coffee Scrubs! This is also my 100th blog post here on WordPress, so kind of a milestone for me! Yay too 100 posts, and I’ve loved blogging so far for the past 7 (ish) months and want to thank all of you for being here with me so far! I hope you lovelies are enjoying my blog so far and I am super excited for the future!

20160722_102351.jpg

Grounded are a range of body scrubs, hair masks, lip balms and other natural products that got snapped up on Dragons Den last year. You can buy them from Boots on the high street, which is where I got mine! I knew I had to get the grapefruit one, because I’m obsessed with citrusy scented products, and grapefruit is definitely my favourite! They do sell different versions of this scrub, which have different additional benefits and different scents, such as orange, coconut and peppermint! Grounded say that these scrubs will exfoliate, hydrate and firm skin while still remaining natural and cruelty free; and I am all for all of that, so off I went and put it to the test!

Review: New Jeffree Star Liquid Lipsticks – Mannequin and Rose Matter!

Hi my lovelies,

I finally bought my very first Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks! (yay!). I’ve heard for ages that these are SO good and the formula is great, lasting power is great, they’re comfortable to wear etc, and I have been waiting for the perfect moment to finally get my hands on some. These sell out super super quickly, and there’s only one main stockist here in the UK (Go look up Cocktail Cosmetics if you want to get your hands on some when they restock), so it’s really difficult to actually get the chance to buy some before they are all gone!

20160610_192016

When I saw the announcement from CC that they were getting these two new shades in stock , I impatiently kept the website open in my browser at work (there was a lot of refreshing involved), and bought these two gorgeous shades straight away (along with a few Morphe brushes because I couldn’t help myself).

Onto the review!

Review: L’Oreal Nude Magique Cushion Foundation!

Hi my lovelies,

So today’s post is going to be all about the new foundation craze – cushion foundations! This trend started in Korea, and huge brands such as Lancome have released their own versions of this format of foundation, but L’Oreal is the first more affordable drugstore brand to bring out their own, and I knew I had to try it! I’ve had this one for a couple of weeks and given it a really good test, so here’s what I think!

20160525_200023

For those of you in the US, this (weirdly) has a different name over there; you’ll know this as the L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation. Not sure why it’s called something different, but there we go! It’s also been out in the states for ages  – why do we always get things last?!

The Best Beauty Blending Sponge?? Beauty Blender VS Real Techniques VS Spectrum Collections!

Hi my lovelies,

So this is a post that that’s been in the works for a couple of weeks, and pretty requested from you guys since I first mentioned it! I’ve been testing out the Beauty Blender against the Real Techniques and the Spectrum Collections make up sponges for a good few weeks now, and I think I can talk about the pros and cons of all three now!

bb1

What I did: They say your foundation can only be as good as the tools you use to apply it, so I gave all three of these a try with two foundations – one high street (Revlon Colorstay) and one higher end (Clinique Beyond Perfecting), and I used my usual concealer and powder combos with them too!
