The Christmas Tag! (And a happy birthday to me!)

Hi my lovelies,

So it’s the end of November, and it’s also my birthday today, yay! I’m kicking off Christmas in style, and doing my Christmas Tag! I started my blog just before Christmas last year, so I didn’t get to do all the counting down, but I definitely am this year!

I wasn’t tagged in this, but I’m so psyched for Christmas to be here already, so I hope you all like this and I’d love if you did your own Christmas tag for me to read!

Onto the tag!

1. What’s your favourite Christmas movie?

I love, and I mean LOVE It’s A Wonderful Life. I watch it at least twice over the festive period, and I know that you can watch this any time of year but it’s special at Christmas time. I used to watch this every year with my great grandad on VHS every year, and I’ve kept on the tradition as I’ve grown up. It’s my favourite Christmas movie because there’s so much meaning to it, it’s all about family and giving and of course I love all Jimmy Stewart movies.

Look Incredible Beauty Box – November 2016!

Hi my lovelies,

Today’s post is all about my Look Incredible box for November. I’ve had this for a couple of weeks now and tried everything out, so there’s mini reviews of the products in here too! I missed October’s box review, but last month was nothing to shout about really. So straight on to November’s review which is a lot more pleasing to me!

20161127_231947

First up, If you  don’t know about Look Incredible, it’s a monthly beauty subscription service that for £18.99 (now plus £2.50 postage), promises to deliver you five full sized beauty products every month. They’ve had the likes of Tarte, Bare Minerals, Smashbox, Stila and Nars in previous boxes, and are pretty makeup heavy instead of more skincare items, so If you want to try some new makeup without paying the full price, this one is for you!

Review: Love Me Beauty Subscription!

Hi my lovelies,

So today I’m going to be sharing my newfound love (ha) for Love Me Beauty! I’ve been quietly getting this subscription since September, and I’ve had three boxes (bags?) so far.

LOVE ME BEAUTY

I have to say that I love the ‘choosing your own products’ element of this subscription, and the fact that they feature different brands every month so that we can discover new brands and products we won’t have used before, along with some already established beauty faves if we need extras. The element of surprise that comes with a subscription box is gone, but being able to choose what’s in your bag every month is a really great idea, as you know you’re going to get the products you pick out and no be disappointed in anything you receive.

20161122_2359330

This month: Full sized Ecotools brushes, brush cleansing cloths and a gorgeously scented Caudalie hand cream!

Love Me Beauty costs £10 per month with £3.95 postage on top, to a total of £13.95; but you’re definitely getting your money’s worth out of the subscription. It works on a points system, where you get 60 credits to spend on items in the edit every month, with optional add on credits available to buy if you want more products. Products normally are between 5 and 20 credits, depending on the brand, cost of the product, or whether they’re full sized or deluxe samples.

September featured Kat Von D and I’m definitely in love with the lippies!

Birchbox X Tatler November 2016 – Shake Your Tail Feather!

Hi my lovelies,

So November’s Birchbox is somewhat of a milestone for me – this is my twelfth box, meaning as of November I’ve been subscribed to Birchbox for a full year! I’ve really taken the time lately to consider where I’m at product wise, as well as financially, and I’m both happy and sad to say that December’s box (next month) will likely be my last, at least for now. I’ve achieved my goal of finding new products and new brands that work for me in these last 12 months, and I definitely have some new faves thanks to Birchbox.

20161107_231011

This month, Birchbox has teamed up with Tatler magazine to pick out some fab products, and I do believe this is one of the best all around boxes I’ve had so far (although one of the makeup items is not the best for me). The box is gorgeous, and really matches in with the teal and white decor in my bedroom, so I’m going to use it to keep knick knacks and samples in. Tatler isn’t really a magazine I go for (I’m a dedicated Elle reader), but they’ve definitely done great on the product front!

Last month my box was really hit and miss, with some hero products (Oribe, represent!) and some duds, so I’m really pleased with the products I received this month as there only seems to be one “miss” in here.

Feel Unique’s Pick N Mix Samples Service! (Soooo Good!)

Hi my lovelies,

If you’re anything like me, you’ll absolutely love this new service from Feel Unique! Whereas in the states you can walk into any Sephora and request a sample of something, beauty stores and brands are not so generous over here in the UK. This is partially because drugstores/department stores normally have testers that you can sample in store to see whether you like the texture and so, but with makeup products you need to see how they wear through the day, or especially with skincare items you need to see how they work out over the course of a week or so.

feel-unique

Overall it seems to be a lot more difficult to get good samples in the UK – Step in Feel Unique, who have added this lovely little addition to their website! Basically, you choose five samples to receive out of literally hundreds (I just checked, there are 416 to choose from right now!) – there’s skincare, hair products, body products, fragrance and even some makeup in there (though you have to be quick to get those!). I’m a big fan of Feel Unique, as they carry lots of brands I love, give you a 10% code off your fave brand for life, and often have great new products and sales! Plus shipping is free over £15!

The Pick N Mix service is technically free, although you do have to pay Feel Unique £3.95 in postage and handling for your samples. However (and this is one of the best bits) they’ll send you a voucher for the same amount off your next purchase with them, which I think is pretty great! You can order samples once per month.

You can find out more info on Feel Unique’s website! || Terms and Conditions

If you haven’t used Feel Unique before, you can also use my link to create an account (well worth it) and get 15% off your first order!

Counting Down to Christmas with Selfridges Beauty Advent Calendar!

Hi my lovelies,

So today’s post is all about Christmas! I know it’s probably too early to start thinking about it yet – it’s the first week in November after all! I have something super special to share this year as it’s my first Christmas blogging: I’ve managed to get my hands on a coveted Selfridges beauty advent calendar!

20161024_173624

Now technically this is a birthday present from my amazing mum as my birthday is the last day in november, but I would have bought this myself had it not been. I missed out last year on this, and really wanted to try it out for myself for 2016, and now I can!

Birchbox November 2016 – Sneak Peek!

Hi My lovelies,

First off, I want to say sorry (again, I can’t help it, I’m English) for being less active lately. I’m still incredibly busy and have little to no time to blog, even though I have so many post ideas floating around my head! I work full time, and I have my final end of course project (it’s taken three years to get here, but hopefully I’m almost done) taking up what little time I normally use to write up my blog posts. That being said, it wouldn’t be the first of the month without my Birchbox preview post, would it?? I’m definitely going to try and be more present, and I’m going to attempt blogmas this year – 25 posts in the first 25 days of December – do you guys think I can do it?! Anyway, onto the box!

November’s box (November already, wow!) theme is Shake Your Tail Feather, and the box is adorably peacock designed! It’s curated this month by Tatler magazine, which if I’m honest is a little too middle class for me to read, but they have definitely put together an amazing line up for the boxes this month. Non subscribers, this may be your month to join, as I am super excited for my November box to arrive. I’m still debating on whether to cancel my boxes after Christmas, depending on finances and enjoyment factors (possibly in favour of Love Me Beauty), but I’m definitely looking forward for this one!!

bb1

For those of you who don’t know about Birchbox, it’s a beauty subscription service that sends around 5 beauty products (including makeup, skincare and haircare) to your door each month. Sometimes there is also a beauty bonus included, such as January’s #nofilter compact mirror! It costs £10 plus £2.95 postage, and in my opinion is well worth it so far as I’ve found products that I really love (Spectrum makeup brushes, anybody?)!

Birchbox also now ships to Ireland, so all you Irish lovelies can now get your hands on this little box of wonders too!
