Ultimate Sephora Wishlist Tag!

Hi my lovelies,

So I want to start this post by aplogisizng for the lack of posts this week (a combo of work stress, dissertation writing and writers block), and say a huge welcome to my new followers! I’d love to chat with all of you so come say hi in the comments or over on Twitter or Insta. Hello and I hope we can be great friends!

Don’t get me wrong, I love being British and living in the UK, but as a beauty blogger, it’s really stressful (not to mention expensive) trying to get US products over here. Either you’re slapped with huge delivery or customs charges, or UK stockists decide to charge you as much as they like, just because they can (Oh, hi £42 ABH palette).

One thing I really wish we had access to over here is definitely a Sephora – they have them in France, why not jolly ol’ England too? Everything you could ever want all in one place, a generous rewards system, and sales where you get more than a measly 10% off. All this, plus all of those coveted brands that are super difficult to find here and small travel sizes and gift sets! There are also Sephora brand products that I’ve heard great things about, and they’re just not available here! I have heard rumours lately about a possible UK store, which could mean great things for me! (Although probably not my bank account).

So here’s a list of products that I’ve decided I would buy if you gave me a free trip to Sephora!

A Beauty Box With a Twist: Perfect Pamper Box Review!*

Hi my lovelies,

We all know I love my beauty subscription boxes, so when I was given the chance by the lovely people at A Bundle Of to review their brand new beauty box, I jumped at the chance! So here’s my review of the Perfect Pamper Box!

20160913_193124

*This is a PR sample, but you know I’m always completely honest, if something is great, I’ll say so, and if it’s awful, I’ll break the bad news. On with the review!

20160913_193606

Perfect Pamper Box is a little different from your standard beauty boxes on the market (your Birchbox, Glossybox etc) as everything inside is handmade, cruelty free and chosen specifically from small, UK based business. It’s also more of a “spend the night in and relax” type of box filled with bath and body products as well as skincare and cute treats! Every month, A Bundle Of will handpick at least four pamper worthy products for the box, and ship them out for £12 plus £2.95 postage, which is a mid range price point (more expensive than Birchbox, less than Look Incredible or Cohorted).

My box is a little bashed from the postman, but luckily everything inside was a-ok!

You can find more about subscribing at abundleof.co.uk/pages/perfect-pamper-box

So what’s in the box?

Look Incredible Beauty Box – September 2016 Edition!

Hi my lovelies,

I’ve been getting Look Incredible for a good eight months now, and it definitely does not disappoint when it comes to value for money! Sometimes the products are a bit hit and miss, but I’m mostly really excited and happy with September’s contents!

20160913_194219

Like last month, gone is the cheaper looking sticker and we now have gorgeous gold embossed lettering and a pretty little ribbon on the box, which just adds to my enjoyment of the box. It’s the little things, right? Last month’s box had one of my fave items I’ve ever received in a beauty box – the Nars sheer lip treatment (basically a tinted balm)! £15 for what is essentially a lip balm is a lot to me, but I’m definitely not going back after this!

If you  don’t know about Look Incredible, it’s a monthly beauty subscription service that for £18.99 (now plus £2.50 postage), promises to deliver you five full sized beauty products every month. They’ve had the likes of Tarte, Bare Minerals, Smashbox, Stila and Nars in previous boxes, and are pretty makeup heavy instead of more skincare items, so If you want to try some new makeup without paying the full price, this one is for you!

Interested? Find out more at lookincredible.co.uk/products/beautybox

Review: Lush Eau Roma Toner Water!

Hi my lovelies,

Today’s post is going to be a quick one: all about the Eau Roma toner water from Lush! I’ve been using a Clinique toner for a while, but it turned out to be a bit too harsh for me, and I’ve been looking for something to switch to. Step in Lush’s Eau Roma water, which is meant to be seriously gentle on my skin.

20160816_113622

This toner has Rose Water and Lavender in there as active ingredients. Rose water helps to calm down the skin and help with any redness, while Lavender will hydrate and balance your complexion, according to the Lush website.

I’ve been using this both morning and night, after my cleanser and before any serums or moisturiser to make sure this really sinks in to my skin and works its magic. Just a few spritzes on my face like a setting spray, and then I pat it in gently with my fingers. Normally I leave it around 30 seconds or so to dry before putting anything else on afterwards. I have combination/oily skin, so I tend to have dry patches (around my forehead and cheeks mostly) and really oily spots (around my nose and chin especially, but it could be anywhere).

Pros:

I’ve found that this is really gentle even on my super sensitive skin, and it does live up to its claim of soothing redness – I’ve noticed my skin is far less red after incorporating this into my routine, and any breakouts I have go away sooner (a mix of this and my Origins Out of trouble mask, I expect). Unlike other cleansers, it’s more soothing and hydrating than astringent, and doesn’t have any alcohol in there (something my skin is really grateful for). This hydrates my dry patches and doesn’t irritate my skin at all either! I’ve found (although this might be from face masks) that there is less texture on my skin lately too, and that can’t be a coincidence. It also smells really good, if you’re into that.

Cons

If you’re really oily, I don’t think this will do much for you or your skin as it isn’t oily but it isn’t mattifying either. It’ll just add to the product on your face, which could make you oilier throughout the day. If you’re looking for a toner that’s going to revitalise or brighten your skin, this isn’t the one for you either, as it’s meant to calm and soothe.

20160816_113643

I’m a big fan of Lush products in general, because I know they’re handmade, cruelty free, and as natural as possible. This Toner was recommended to me by a follower (seriously, thank you times a million and please give me more recommendations), and while I normally don’t look to Lush for skincare, It’s going to be definitely in the mix when I’m looking in the future!

20160816_113700

Needless to say, I’m pretty impressed by this toner water, and since it’s going to be a while (sadly) until my next Lush trip, I’ve stocked up on the big bottle of this as it’s now integrated into my daily and nightly routine!

This toner water is £4.50 for 100g and £8.50 for 250g, and you can pick it up from any Lush store, or from the Lush Website.

I’d love to know what you guys think of this toner, and what your favourite Lush products are, so please let me know! If you have any recommendations about what to pick up on my next trip to Lush, please don’t hesitate to enable me!

As always, please let me know what you think in the comments and anything you want to see from my blog because I really love you guy’s input. Thank you guys for reading, and please don’t forget to give this post a big like and a share if you enjoyed it, and I’ll see you all very soon in the next post! Beauty Top 5: Face Masks!

Hi my lovelies,

So for today’s post, I thought I’d share my current favourite face masks with you all! They’re currently a huge part of my skincare routine, and I try to use one at least twice a week!

20160830_2328560

All of these masks are completely different, and I love them for different reasons. Some are for calmer, clearer skin, some really help with any oiliness, and some replenish that much needed moisture to my skin! Let’s head in to the list, shall we?

Birchbox September 2016 – “Heroes” Unboxing and First Impressions!

Hi my lovelies,

It’s time for another unboxing of my latest Birchbox! September’s theme is Heroes, and this month Birchbox are helping us celebrate our beauty heroes and find new ones. The drawer style box is back, which I’m super happy about, and I am loving the geometric pastel design for September (Even though my box looks like the delivery person tried and failed to shove it through our letterbox before leaving it with a neighbour).

20160907_182334

Last month’s box wasn’t the best and there were only a couple of things in there (the perfume and the serum) that I was really loving. The dry shampoo I liked, but absolutely hated the scent which puts me off buying it. I’m really considering purchasing  the cute little travel rollerball version as I really like the scent! So September’s box has a lot to do to impress me!

August Faves and Fails!

Hi my lovelies,

A little belated, but here’s the list of things that I’ve been loving and loathing through the month of August! There’s definitely a big mix of items in here this month, from Makeup, skincare, Tv, books and music,  so grab a cuppa and settle in for August’s list!

20160907_180555-tile

The Faves:

  • Spectrum Marbleous Brushes – face20160820_161809

If you follow me on twitter or Instagram, you’ll know that I had a disaster with one of the old set of these I had, as one brush completely broke. The company (big props to Spectrum) were super nice and offered to replace it, but sent me an entire new set of brushes!! I love the new brushes even more than the old ones, and I’m particularly in love with the Contour Brush, the Large powder brush (perfect for a big sweep of bronzer), and the angled Stippling brush! A definite one to try out for anyone looking for new brushes!

Birchbox September 2016 – Sneak Peek!

Hi my lovelies,

Can you believe September is here already! We’re heading towards autumn now, and as the days get darker and the nights get colder, we definitely need that little bit of luxury to pep us up! Step in Birchbox! Last month’s offering wasn’t the best ever, as I only really liked around half the products in my box for August, and the bag was disappointing. I’m hoping for great things in September though!

14199333_1086106648105833_3419088940778700363_n

I’m not sure that September’s box has a theme, but this month Birchbox is back with the drawer style box, which I’m super happy with – it makes storing things in there so much easier! The box looks super cute too, with pretty geometric pastels that I will definitely keep using (it would make a perfect place to store my face masks, I think!).

bbox

For those of you who don’t know about Birchbox, it’s a beauty subscription service that sends around 5 beauty products (including makeup, skincare and haircare) to your door each month. Sometimes there is also a beauty bonus included, such as January’s #nofilter compact mirror! It costs £10 plus £2.95 postage, and in my opinion is well worth it so far as I’ve found products that I really love (Spectrum makeup brushes, anybody?)!

Birchbox also now ships to Ireland, so all you Irish lovelies can now get your hands on this little box of wonders too!
