A Look Back at my First Year of Blogging – 16 Things I Learned in 2016!

Hi my lovelies and happy new year! We made it to 2017!

I’ve had a little bit of a hiatus over the new year period, partly because I posted so much for Blogmas, partly because I needed a bit of time free from work, free from stress just to relax and spend time with my family and friends. But I’m back now, and I’m jumping in to 2017 with a fresh perspective and loads of blog ideas!

I was also a very spoiled girl at Christmas – let me know if you’d like to see a “What I Got For Christmas” post – And I hope every single one of you had a fantastic time over the festive period!

Can you believe I’ve had this blog for a whole year? It’s strange to think that over Christmas break last year I picked up my laptop and started to write, and I haven’t looked back since! I’m planning to do a giveaway for all my followers soon after I come back from my holidays (I go two weeks tomorrow for a fortnight’s Caribbean cruise, and I’m SO excited!) just to say thank you for sticking with me so far! Please vote below and let me know what you’d like to see in my giveaway – it is for you guys, after all!

I’ve learned so much over the last 12 months and found some great new friends (I hope) in the process – so let’s see what 2016 had in store for me and what I’ve realised a la Kylie Jenner in the last year! I’ve also interspersed some of my fave blog photos I’ve taken this year!

Winter skincare update – morning routine! (Blogmas, day 19)

Hi my lovelies,

Welcome back to Blogmas! For today’s post, I thought i’d do an updated skincare post, with all the stuff I’m using at the moment! I have combination skin, so it tends to fluctuate pretty regularly between oily and dry, but with the cold, harsh weather in winter my skin dries out pretty badly and I definitely switch my skincare up to make sure I stay hydrated! I know it’s a little cliche to do this kind of post, but It’s been a long time since I’ve shared my skincare faves with you all that I use daily, so I’m about due! This one is my regular morning routine, and in a couple of days I’ll have a night time routine too, so look out for that one!

My morning routine:

I’ve been using the new Clinique exfoliating cleanser recently – and loving it! This is microbead free, and is really nice and scrubby (sounds weird but you all know what I mean) and I’ve noticed my face is definitely smoother than before after using this – and less texture is always good! It’s exfoliating and foamy at the same time, and I’ve been using a little of this in the morning to cleanse. If i’m in a rush or not in the exfoliaty mood, I’ll cleanse using a little Bioderma on a cotton pad as it gets rid of dirt really easily.

My Current Night Time Skincare Routine! (Ft. A lot of Clinique)

Hi my lovelies,

I’m on a blogging spree this week! In my attempt to make up for a week and a half of nothing last month, I’m going to try and get at least three-four posts up each week if I can, so wish me luck fitting this in with everything else! I’m done with classes for summer, but I still work 40 hours a week so I’m really having to work at this whole blog thing lately!

For today’s post, I’m sharing my nightly skincare routine with you all! This swaps and changes depending on my skin and the time of year, but this one is my current array of night time products, and I thought it would be something different to share with you guys!

Step 1 – Remove My Makeup

We all know how bad it is for your skin to sleep in makeup, so I take mine off every night with Clinique’s Take the Day Off products (they’re the best I’ve tried!). I use Take the day off for lids, lashes & lips on a cotton pad to remove any eye makeup I’m wearing, especially mascara; along with any liquid lipstick I may have on. Regular lipstick wears off during the day but liquid lips have to be removed completely with an oil based remover, which this one is. You don’t have to do a lot of scrubbing, as the oil does all the work in breaking down the makeup!

What’s In My Travel Makeup Bag? & Why I’ve Been Mysteriously Absent!

Hi My lovelies,

So you may have noticed it’s been over a week since my last post – not something I usually do! Did you guys miss me?

Anyway, this post is so super late because I have had zero time to blog over the past week at all: I went away for the weekend on friday morning, got back late sunday night and then had a really important exam on wednesday morning. All that, coupled with the whole Brexit thing (I won’t get into that here, if you follow me on twitter I’ve voiced my opinions pretty strongly) has meant for the most busy week ever! But we’re here and I’m back with a brand new blog post.

I find it really hard to pack when I’m travelling, as I like the luxury of having loads of stuff to pick from when I’m at home, and makeup for me is especially hard to whittle down into just the essentials that I ‘need’ while I’m away. That being said, I probably did still take a lot of product with me, even though I was only away for just 3 days! I thought I’d use this post to show you what I brought with me!

Beauty 101 – Concealer!

Hi my lovelies,

Today’s post is hopefully part one of a new segment for this blog, where I’ll talk about tips and tricks and how to get the best from your products! I’ve been thinking about this for a while but didn’t know where to start, but after speaking with my friend from Into the Gloss I realised that Concealer is something that people either have spot on or have no clue what to do! So this post is all about concealer and what to do with it! (P.S. What do you guys think of the name Beauty 101?)

Now I’ll admit that I used to think that concealer was just something you used to hide spots on your face but as I’ve got older and more informed (and better with make-up) I now know that concealer is so versatile and has so many uses!

What’s the best type of concealer for you?

Different skin types and concerns will need different types of concealer,so which is best for you?
