2016 Beauty Favourites!

Hi my lovelies,

Award season is upon us, so I’m giving out my very own awards to my most used and best loved products from 2016! Today’s (rather belated, I’m afraid) post is going to be all about my absolute fave beauty products and other things from 2016! Some of these you’ll have seen me rave about and some I’ve been using quietly for a long time, and only realised how much I loved them once I’ve used it all up! Some of these are long time faves too, and you’ll probably not have seen them on this blog before, but I haven’t managed to find anything that beats them out this year! I love reading this type of post, and I hope you’ll all like this one too! Let’s get stuck in!

  • Bioderma Micellar Cleanser

This is one of those “I meant to review this ages ago and never did” products that I bought to see whether it was worth the hype. It totally is! I struggle to find cleansers that don’t strip my skin or irritate my sensitivity, and this cleanses, removes my makeup and doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight afterwards like a lot of micellar cleansers do. I’m halfway through my second bottle, which speaks for itself.

Review: Love Me Beauty Subscription!

Hi my lovelies,

So today I’m going to be sharing my newfound love (ha) for Love Me Beauty! I’ve been quietly getting this subscription since September, and I’ve had three boxes (bags?) so far.

LOVE ME BEAUTY

I have to say that I love the ‘choosing your own products’ element of this subscription, and the fact that they feature different brands every month so that we can discover new brands and products we won’t have used before, along with some already established beauty faves if we need extras. The element of surprise that comes with a subscription box is gone, but being able to choose what’s in your bag every month is a really great idea, as you know you’re going to get the products you pick out and no be disappointed in anything you receive.

This month: Full sized Ecotools brushes, brush cleansing cloths and a gorgeously scented Caudalie hand cream!

Love Me Beauty costs £10 per month with £3.95 postage on top, to a total of £13.95; but you’re definitely getting your money’s worth out of the subscription. It works on a points system, where you get 60 credits to spend on items in the edit every month, with optional add on credits available to buy if you want more products. Products normally are between 5 and 20 credits, depending on the brand, cost of the product, or whether they’re full sized or deluxe samples.

September featured Kat Von D and I’m definitely in love with the lippies!

A Rather Successful Trip to TK Maxx – Mini Haul!

Hi my lovelies,

Happy Friday! (Or is it Fri-Yay?!)

Is is just me, or has TK Maxx massively stepped up its game recently? All I used to find were damaged palettes, ten million nail polishes and the odd gem that is actually really good. They seem to have had somewhat of a beauty and makeup overhaul over the last few months, and I’m finding more and more bargains in my local store!

So here’s what I picked up from TK Maxx on my last trip. Spoiler: I saved a ton of money!

Look Incredible Beauty Box – September 2016 Edition!

Hi my lovelies,

I’ve been getting Look Incredible for a good eight months now, and it definitely does not disappoint when it comes to value for money! Sometimes the products are a bit hit and miss, but I’m mostly really excited and happy with September’s contents!

20160913_194219

Like last month, gone is the cheaper looking sticker and we now have gorgeous gold embossed lettering and a pretty little ribbon on the box, which just adds to my enjoyment of the box. It’s the little things, right? Last month’s box had one of my fave items I’ve ever received in a beauty box – the Nars sheer lip treatment (basically a tinted balm)! £15 for what is essentially a lip balm is a lot to me, but I’m definitely not going back after this!

If you  don’t know about Look Incredible, it’s a monthly beauty subscription service that for £18.99 (now plus £2.50 postage), promises to deliver you five full sized beauty products every month. They’ve had the likes of Tarte, Bare Minerals, Smashbox, Stila and Nars in previous boxes, and are pretty makeup heavy instead of more skincare items, so If you want to try some new makeup without paying the full price, this one is for you!

Want to see what was in previous boxes? Here are August July,  June, and May‘s boxes!

What’s in the box for September?

The 7 Deadly Sins of Beauty Tag!

Hi my lovelies,

So today’s post is a little different, I’ve seen this tag a few times lately, and it sounded super fun to do, so I did! Basically it’s all about the seven deadly sins, and how they apply to us beauty bloggers! I’m tagging all of you guys in this tag, so I’d love to see all of your answers to these questions too!!

7 deadly sins tag

Onto the Questions!

greed

GREED: What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?

Most Inexpensive – My 99p Essence Lip Liners! They’re so good and I can’t believe they’re so cheap!

Most expensive – Probably my Urban Decay Alice Through The Looking Glass Palette as far as makeup goes. Though I have a Clinique serum that is worth more than this (I got it free!) and my GHD’s which were many many pounds but well worth the investment!

The Lust List – August 2016!

Hi my lovelies,

I’m back with another list of my most lustworthy items this month, and there are definitely some amazing items in store for August that I’ve had my eye on! These are beauty products, makeup, fashion and just about anything that I’ve been lusting over for the last month!

LUSTLISTAUGUST.jpg

So what have I been lusting after this month?

  • Tarte Shape Tape Concealer

If you haven’t heard about this concealer in the last few weeks – what rock have you been living under? I have heard blogger after blogger rave about this concealer this month, it supposedly has smooth, high coverage without being drying or patchy. There have been mixed reviews about the blending sponge to go with this concealer, and this is only sold on QVC over here, with the sponge in question. Therefore, I may give it a go, but I’m definitely lusting over it!

July Beauty Faves! (And a couple of fails)

Hi my lovelies,

Another month has flown by super quickly, and so I have some more products to share with you that I have been loving over July, and a few that I haven’t! we’ll start off with the positives first, and there are some skincare, some makeup, and as always some random items! Apologies for this post being slightly late, but I’ve been swamped with work this week, and the one day I wasn’t I was out literally the whole day. It’s a long one though, so (hopefully) worth the wait!

In July I also hit a milestone for this blog – 100 posts! So I just want to thank all of you guys for sticking with me so far and I can’t wait to see what the future brings!

20160731_143129-tile.jpg

Let’s get started, shall we?

20160731_143129

  • Indeed Labs Hydraluron Moisture Mask
  • Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight mask

It’s safe to say that July has been the month of face masks for me, and three of them have cropped up in my faves this month! With the weather being so dry lately, my combination skin has been hating me and so I used every moisturising product in my beauty collection this month to try and combat the dry patches while still not getting too oily and it is a fragile balance, my friends. So I’ve really been loving these two to give my skin the much needed hydration!

What’s In My Travel Makeup Bag? & Why I’ve Been Mysteriously Absent!

Hi My lovelies,

So you may have noticed it’s been over a week since my last post – not something I usually do! Did you guys miss me?

20160622_180907.jpg

Anyway, this post is so super late because I have had zero time to blog over the past week at all: I went away for the weekend on friday morning, got back late sunday night and then had a really important exam on wednesday morning. All that, coupled with the whole Brexit thing (I won’t get into that here, if you follow me on twitter I’ve voiced my opinions pretty strongly) has meant for the most busy week ever! But we’re here and I’m back with a brand new blog post.

I find it really hard to pack when I’m travelling, as I like the luxury of having loads of stuff to pick from when I’m at home, and makeup for me is especially hard to whittle down into just the essentials that I ‘need’ while I’m away. That being said, I probably did still take a lot of product with me, even though I was only away for just 3 days! I thought I’d use this post to show you what I brought with me!
