Birchbox UK X Rifle Paper Co – “Blooming Marvellous” April 2016 unboxing!

Hi My lovelies,

So it’s another month and another Birchbox! April’s box has got me feeling all ready for the beauty of spring to come around as it’s theme is “Blooming Marvellous” and is centred around some gorgeous looking boxes designed by Rifle Paper Company!

There were a couple to pick from, and I chose the bluey green ‘Herb Garden’ box, which I think is super super cute and matches my whole aesthetic, so it’ll be handy to keep around and put little bits and bobs in!

I also did a video unboxing and first impressions, which you can find here!

What I received this month:

  • Benefit  – BADgal lash Mascara

Everyone got a little Benefit goody in their Birchbox this month, which I’m super happy about. I always love getting brands like Benefit in these boxes, as it’s a fantastic brand that a lot of people love. I’m also super happy that I got this mascara, and I’ll tell you why. I was hoping for a mascara as the Hoola bronzer is a little dark for me, and would make my complexion look a little dirty, and I’ve tried and disliked the Air Patrol before. I also already tried (and loved) the They’re Real mascara, so this is the perfect item for me to get in this month’s box! The wand on this is massive, and really helps to elongate and define my lashes, and no flakage so far! This is a pretty decent sample size, and the full size mascara is £17.50

  • Cynthia Rowley Beauty – Black Eyeliner pencil

Isn’t this just the prettiest eyeliner ever? It should be, considering fashion designer Cynthia Rowley is behind it. She’s created this Birchbox exclusive makeup line, and I received her eyeliner in my box this month. If you watched my unboxing video, you’ll have seen that this swatches beautifully, it’s creamy and smooth, and very very black. I’ve yet to try it out, but once I do, i’ll report back! I’m assuming this is travel sized, as it’s a perfect size to pop in my handbag! The full size product is £11, so really affordable too!

  • Balance Me –  Tinted Wonder Eye Cream

I’ve been on the lookout for a great eye cream/concealer lately, and fingers crossed this one will be amazing! I’ve heard good things about Balance Me, but never tried the brand before. The booklet says this is a great product if you don’t get enough sleep, as it both perks up and conceals the undereye area (as it’s tinted), and the ingredients are both soothing and firming. Can I also add that this smells amazing? Hopefully this is a little wonder as the name states! This is sample size, and the full size is £20

  • Beaver Professional – Hydro Nutritive Repairing Shampoo and Conditioner

20160413_175658

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: please will Birchbox stop sending me samples where the shampoo and conditioner are different sizes? The shampoo sample is bigger than the small sachet of conditioner so i’ll run out of conditioner first, and it’s frustrating as I don’t think I can give it a proper trial this way! Anyway, onto the product: this is a repairing set of products, with nourishing ingredients like avocado oil in there to really get into your hair and replenish that healthy shine we all want! I especially love the addition of PH balances on the bottles! Obviously these are samples, and the full size products start at £11

  • Kueshi Foot Care Cream

20160413_175751

Not the most exciting addition to a beauty box, but this will definitely get some use! I said in my video that foot cream is one of those things you get in a gift set at christmas, say you’ll buy more of, and then don’t! (or is that just me?) This has both softening and nourishing ingredients in there to make your tootsies look their best! As we get into warmer weather and the sandals come out, this is going to be a great little product! I’m not the keenest on the scent, but my feet are as far from my nose as I can get, so that’s neither here nor there. Again a nice change in products to try out, and a pretty decent sample size. Full size this product would be £12.

What’s the verdict?

I’m pretty happy with this month’s box so far. I always love getting benefit products, and more makeup is always good! Again I feel like I’m definitely finding new products to use, which is the aim of getting these boxes!

Best thing in the box? Definitely either the Benefit mascara or the Balance Me eye cream! Looking forward to giving everything a good try!
