June Beauty Faves!

Hi my lovelies,

Can you believe that half the year has gone already? I’m not sure (and a little worried) about where six whole months has passed since I first started this blog (it was back in late December), but it’s been such a great experience so far and I’m looking forward to what the future holds for me and my little blog! Thanks to all you lovely people for sticking with me so far!

Anyway, here are the products I’ve been using and loving throughout June! Yet again I have loads of things to share with you, so let’s start with makeup!

  • Jeffree Star Liquid Lipsticks in Rose Matter and Mannequin

I’m sorry if I’m boring you all with my obsession over these lipsticks! When I was thinking of what was going to go into my faves this month, these went straight to the top of the list! These are super matte, comfortable and long lasting, and I can’t believe it took me so long to buy some! I won’t ramble on, but see my review post if you want to know more!

  • Essence Lip Liners in Wish Me A Rose and Satin Mauve

I’ve been meaning to write about these lip liners but haven’t had the time, so they’ve made their way into the favourites post instead! These are the first Essence products I’ve tried and I have to say they’re fantastic and I cannot believe they are only £1 each! The two colours I have will take me through a lot of my daily lipsticks (I wear a lot of pink and purples) and I’m definitely going to pick up a few more of these because they’re creamy, pigmented and don’t pull or drag too much like you would expect from such an affordable brand. I’m looking forward to trying more Essence products in the future if they’re all as good as this!

  • GOSH Velvet Touch Lipstick in Matt Smoothie

I’m not sure what I wore more of this month, the Jeffree Star lippies or this! Smoothie is such a wearable everyday pink that’s effortless and will round out almost every makeup look flawlessly. It’s nice and matte, which is my fave lipstick finish lately, really comfy to wear, and it smells like chocolate: what more could you want from a drugstore lipstick?

  • NYX Micro Brow Pencil in 04 Chocolate

This is my second purchase of this eyebrow pencil and I love this little beauty. You have the thinnest pencil (and it’s retractable!) on one end, and a little spoolie on the other, which is super handy! I like to use the spoolie before I fill in my brows as it shows me exactly where I need to go in with the pencil end. The pencil is creamy without being too waxy, and most importantly doesn’t fade during the day, even without using brow gel which is a big plus. I’ve yet to try the Anastasia one, but for £7 this is great!

  • No7 Exceptional Definition Mascara

At last I’ve found it: a mascara that gives me definition, lift and volume all in one! Definition is really important to me in a mascara, I just hate my lashes being clumpy (even in the name of loads of volume) and for an every day mascara I want to look like I have super long voluminous lashes while making sure they look natural, and this does the trick. Between this and Benefit’s roller lash, I think I’ve got my daytime mascara sorted completely!

  • Clinique Turnaround Overnight Revitalizing Moisturiser

I got this in a free gift last month and have been using it (almost) nightly since! My skin looks brighter and clearer, and is so much softer than it was before. This works to ‘turn over’ skin cells while you’re sleeping, meaning fresher, younger skin in the morning. I’m almost to the bottom of this little pot, and am most definitely buying the full size. It’s a good job this lasts a while as the full size is £34 for 50ml (ouch)

  • Barry M Molten Metals Nail Polish in Copper Mine

It’s been a while since a nail polish was in my favourites, and I’m glad to say this one from Barry M is just gorgeous! I have a few of the Molten Metals polishes but this one is by far my fave of the bunch. There are a lot of silver and gold polishes around, but a copper shade like this is rare, so I knew I had to get this, and I don’t regret it. Copper Mine is an absolutely perfect shade for summer, warm and shimmery; it just screams ‘I should be on a beach in Hawaii somewhere’. All of the Molten Metals polishes I have are great though, with such a nice reflective finish with none of the glitter polish struggles. If you buy any polish this summer make it this one!

  • NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray

I’ve been on the hunt for a good setting spray and while I’m still waiting on a Selfridges visit to go buy Mac Fix+ I decided to try this one from NYX. For the price, it’s fantastic. This sets my makeup beautifully without it looking powdery or cakey, and is wholly forgiving if I forget (or am too lazy) to use primer in the morning. As it sets matte, it also helps me to control the unfortunate oil situation that happens when the weather is hotter, too!

  • Dove Advanced Pure Care Dry Oil Shampoo and Conditioner

Last up on June’s faves list is this shampoo and conditioner from Dove. This is part of their professional range, so It’s a little more expensive, bu well worth it. I’m not someone that is likely to spend more than £10 on a shampoo, so I rarely venture outside of Boots when buying hair products. My scalp is really damaged from a hair disaster a few years back (let me know if you want to hear my horror story) so It’s difficult for me to find a shampoo and conditioner that doesn’t irritate in any way. I’m happy to say that this hasn’t caused any damage at all, In fact my scalp feels better than ever! This set has macadamia and other natural dry oil infused to help nourish dry hair, which mine tends to be most of the time, and this leaves my hair shiny and (if i say so myself) smelling great!

I love the Essence lip pencils too. That NYX setting spray I like too. You should try the one from Makeup Revolution. I think I like it a little better than the NYX one.
