Review: Ciate X Olivia Palermo – Cheekbone Cheat Blush/Bronzer duo!

Hi my lovelies,

So I was in my local TK Maxx recently (again) and spied these little lovelies over in the makeup section. They had two different shades, and I picked this up in the shade Bluff Point. This is the lighter of the two shades, with a bronzer suited more to my paler skin, and a pink toned blush.

I really liked the Ciate eyeliner I picked up previously, and their nail polishes are among my favourites, so when I saw that this was on sale at TK Maxx for only £5.99 (It has a £25 RRP), I had to try it out!

On with the review!

Packaging02

This blush/bronzer duo has the most lovely packaging! The outer packaging is sort of a  black mock croc effect, with gold accents that make this product look super luxurious! Inside, there’s a huge mirror that takes up the whole of the lid, and the blush and bronzer are split into two equal (and generous) sections, with an OP (for Olivia Palermo) and the signature Ciate bow stamped into the centre. Straight away, I’m left with the feeling that this is going to be a great product, without even trying it out,as I’m a sucker for great packaging.

Colour Payoff

03.jpgI’m going to split this up into two sections, one for the blush and one for the bronzer.

First, the bronzer. The colour is pretty light, which is great for us paler skinned girls, but maybe not suited to someone with a darker skin tone. The colour isn’t the most pigmented in the world, but that’s okay because it’s really buildable. For someone like me who doesn’t really contour as most shades are too dark, this is a great bronzer tone for me. It gives me that healthy glow without making my skin look dirty, which a lot of bronzers do as they’re too dark.

Next, the Blush. This is super pigmented and a great mid pink tone that compliments the bronzer perfectly. As it’s so pigmented, a little bit of this goes a long way. A good pink blush is something that I think will suit everyone, and this is a great one to have! This gives a lovely rosy cheeked look, and the colour payoff is really great!

Wearability/Longevity

Overall, this product looks really natural on the skin, bronzed without looking dirty, and lasts pretty well throughout the day. Generally speaking, blush is the first thing that fades away from my face during the day, but as this is so pigmented, it stays pretty well as compared to drugstore blushes. Both the bronzer and the blush have a semi-matte finish with just a little bit of shimmer, which is really wearable and natural looking. There’s the unexpected addition of Bamboo in this product, too, which helps to control oil wherever this is applied, which I didn’t realise until I was trying it for the first time. This is a great thing for me, as lately my skin has been a little more oily than usual!

What’s the verdict?

Overall, this is a great bargain for the price I paid, and means if and when I’m travelling, I only need to pack this one product instead of  two different products. Both the bronzer and the blush really suit my skin tone, and blend beautifully into the skin. I’m really glad I picked this up, as it’s one that I keep reaching for again and again.
